All Aboard the Paperchase ‘Back to School’ Bus

Three weeks ago I was delighted to attend my very first Paperchase event! This was actually one of my New Year blogging goals back in January. As a massive stationery fiend, I was chuffed to be invited to explore the brand new ‘Back to School’ range during the Paperchase BTS Press Bus Tour.

The event was hosted on board a shiny red vintage bus, parked outside Paperchase’s Head Office in London. The bus immediately brought back old school memories, particularly as it was raining outside, and steamed up on the inside! I immediately wanted to draw on the windows, for old times’ sake.

The Paperchase team had laid out their four new school collections on the seats of both decks for our perusal. This consisted of the adorable Monsterosity range, featuring pixelated dinosaur designs in blue camouflage colours. My favourite item is probably the wooden dinosaur pen pot (£6) in the centre.

As well as the usual notebooks and pens, the range features a tonne of different back-packs, flasks, lunch boxes, and pencil cases, so you really can send your kids to school with everything they could possibly need. I can’t pretend that I was this cool or organised when I was at school! I wish.

Possibly the most playful of the new collections is the Purr Maids range, which features adorable cat / mermaid hybrids. Sounds scary? Think again, and look at these cute little fellas! As well as cats, the range features lots of psychedelic seashells, rainbow pastels, pink, and glitter embellishments.

I may not have been a girly girl, but I can still appreciate the allure of these sparkly gems, and you’d need to get everything in the range, right? Those fluffy pens included. Possibly because of my namesake, my favourite item in this range was the iridescent seashell back-packs (£15) – so shiny.

Next up was the more sophisticated Wolf Gang collection, which featured wild wolf motifs alongside galaxy prints and faux-fur elements. Whilst I’m not such a fan of faux fur, I loved the galaxy designs, and was desperate to get my hands on one of the giant galaxy A3 ‘sketch’ books (£7).

Last but not least was the colourful California Dreaming range, which features hippy-esque bold flower prints, reminiscent of the 60s ‘flower power’ movement. My favourite item was the floral tankard with straw (£7), which helps to keep your drink cooler for longer – practical and pretty!

As well as perving on stationery, and remembering old school days, I had the pleasure of hanging out with some lovely blogger friends on board the bus – namely Tasha from Graphique Fantastique, Emma Jane Palin, and Jaye Rockett. We were treated to a glass of prosecco and some sweeties!

Whilst I’m not going back to school anytime soon, and I have no sprogs at present, I love the fact that Paperchase cater for all ages and tastes. No matter how old you are, nothing beats that new notebook feeling, when you can turn a fresh page and unleash your inner to-do list / doodle. Just me?!

Overall, I want to say a big thank you to Paperchase for the invitation, and for my goody bag which contained an assortment of items from across the range. I’m now the lucky owner of four flasks!

The new range is in-store now, so why wait ’til September! Do you have a favourite collection?
